This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the NIT Classes mobile application and the website at niteducation.ac.in (the "Website"). It does not apply to information collected offline or by third parties, except as described below.

We collect the following categories of information:
- Phone Number: Collected and used as the user identifier during registration and login.
- Password: Collected at registration / when users set credentials. Passwords are stored securely (see Security section below).
We do not collect location, camera, photos, microphone, contacts, SMS, gallery, payment, health, or any other device-sensitive data via the app.
We may also process limited, aggregated, or anonymized usage information (for instance app version, crash logs, or anonymous analytics) strictly to improve the Service. Such information does not identify you personally.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your phone number and password are used for the following purposes:
- Authenticate and authorize access to your account;
- Provide you with access to learning materials and account-related features;
- Maintain and improve the performance, stability, and security of the Service;
- Respond to your requests for support and account management (including deletion requests).
We do not use your phone number or password for advertising, profiling for marketing, or sell these details to advertisers.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies (Website)
On our Website we may use cookies and similar technologies to provide a better browsing experience, remember preferences, and to gather anonymous analytics about site usage. Cookies do not contain your password or any sensitive login data. You can control cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality.
5. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We will not share your phone number or password with unaffiliated third parties, except in the limited situations described below:

We retain your account information (phone number and password hash) only for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service or comply with legal obligations.

Upon verification of your request we will delete your account and personal information within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are required to retain certain information by law.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures include:
- Encrypted transmission of data in transit using HTTPS / TLS;
- Storing passwords securely (using industry-standard hashing).
- Access control and restricted access to production databases and servers.
However, no security system is impenetrable. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to or stored by us.
8. Children’s Privacy
The NIT Classes Service is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will remove the information and terminate the account in accordance with applicable law.
9. International Transfers
We operate in India. If personal data is transferred outside your country (for example, to cloud providers or service providers), we will take steps to ensure that such transfers are performed in accordance with applicable data protection laws and that adequate safeguards are in place.
